A LITTLE HELP CHOOSING

Start with their measurements.

A size name is only a starting point. Use the chart for the particular product you are choosing, and measure every dimension it asks for.

01 / Collar

Measure around the part of the neck where the collar is intended to sit. Follow the product’s measuring method and allowance instructions, then compare with its stated adjustment range.

A familiar size letter from another collar is not a substitute for the measurement.

02 / Harness

Start with the exact model’s diagram. It may need chest girth, neck circumference and other dimensions. Keep the tape level and record the measurements without guessing from breed or weight.

If measurements fall across sizes or near a limit, ask before ordering.

03 / Lead

Compare the stated length, width or diameter, handle and clip. Check that the attachment is compatible with the collar or harness you plan to use.

A lead’s colour or thickness alone does not establish its suitability.

Take a little time.

Use a flexible tape and let your dog stand comfortably. If they are unsettled, pause and try again later. After choosing, follow the manufacturer’s fitting instructions and check equipment regularly for wear.

This guide explains what to look for; it cannot choose a size without verified measurements for the exact product.
