Buying guides / THE HOUSE OF HOUND

A closer look at everyday collars.

Measurements, fastening, material: a useful order for making a choice.

Start with the neck range.

Use the product’s measuring method and compare the result with its adjustment range. Look at the width and fastening as well as the size label. Different product families may use the same letter for different dimensions.

Look at the fastening.

Find a clear photograph and description of the buckle and attachment points. Check how the collar adjusts and where any tag or lead is intended to attach. If a feature is unclear, ask before ordering.

Understand the material.

Read the stated composition, lining and care instructions. Canvas, leather and webbing describe different kinds of construction or material; none by itself proves durability, comfort or suitability for your dog.

Choose the colour last.

Once the practical details work for your dog, choose the colour you enjoy. For a coordinated set, check each item’s actual colour and hardware. Matching names do not always mean an exact match between suppliers.
